Pediatric tumors and malformations

Pediatric neurosurgery includes pathologies completely different than the neurosurgery for adulthood, that is the reason why it is mandatory to have a high specialized opinion. Most frequent pathologies are hydrocephalus, cerebral tumors and craniosynostosis (early fusion of skull suture).

In Ticino, there is no department of pediatric neurosurgery. These little patients must go to another canton in Switzerland to be treated.

We could offer a service of outpatient clinic in Ticino and follow up such patients. For patients who need a surgical treatment, we could support and accompany the patient to the appropriate neurosurgical department in Switzerland.
